Why we act on plastic

Do something for the planet this Black Friday!

We’re donating 10% of Black Friday revenue to CleanHub to fund a marine litter research project that aims to build waste management systems on the Andaman Islands. That means every order you place during this time will contribute to this amazing project.

We know that we are not perfect - but through hard work, we also know that we can also be better each day. That is why Scandinavian Biolabs also collects the plastic equivalent of each product sold since January 2022. Scroll down to check our progress.

Through our partnership with CleanHub, we fund waste collection in coastal communities where services were previously unavailable or not affordable.

This year we're supporting these sustainability projects

Through CleanHub, we fund projects that collect plastic waste - either directly from nature, at community collection points or directly from local households. The plastic is then sorted and any material that can be recycled is reused. Plastic that cannot be recycled is used as an alternative fuel in cement production, replacing coal and gas. This prevents the plastic from entering the environment again.

Clean La Barrita

Our Clean La Barrita project works with coastal and riverside communities to address poverty and plastic waste. By encouraging recycling, the project helps improve livelihoods while keeping trash out of waterways, creating a cleaner, healthier environment for their community.

Clean Kerala

Our Clean Kerala hub works with collection partner, Greens Worms Waste Management to organize door-to-door collection services across southern India, with the help of women empowerment groups.

Clean North Sulawesi

Our Clean North Sulawesi Hub is supported on the ground by No-Trash Triangle. No-Trash Triangle helps prevent plastic pollution in the Coral Triangle, one of the most biodiverse marine environments in South-East Asia.

Clean Goa

Our Clean Goa Hub is supported by vRecycle. vRecycle collects all plastics from households in Southern Goa. Together, we help over 25K homes manage their waste self-sufficiently and have built more than 2K composters and 200 community recycling points.

Our Clean Pondicherry Hub is supported on the ground by Recity. Recity was founded to keep plastics out of the environment, and is creating a circular economy - enabling value-chain collaborations between brands and consumers

Our Clean Dar es Salaam Hub is supported by The Recycler, who offers waste management and recycling solutions for all waste streams in Dar es Salaam on the shores of the Indian Ocean.
